The Master of Divinity (M.Div) program is the gold standard for those individuals looking to get equipped for full time ministry. This program is intended for those who want a full-fledged ministry-oriented degree. It is a well-rounded program that covers all the basic areas of study and is perfect for those training to become ordained as Messianic Rabbis or Messianic Pastors.
Prerequisites
The M.Div program requires a student to already possess a Bachelor’s degree of some sort, though it does not need to be a Bible or theology degree.
Additionally, students that do not have any prior Biblical language credits will be required to take GRK501 - Introduction to Biblical Greek and HBR501 - Introduction to Biblical Hebrew. These are each four (4) credit courses and will not be counted towards the required 92 credits for the degree.
Transfer Credit
A maximum 32 credits (one third of the program) may be transferred to Kehillat Yeshua Messianic Yeshiva's M.Div program. Transfer credits must be on the same academic level (graduate), have a letter grade of no less than C, and they must not have been already been applied to obtain a Master’s degree elsewhere.
M.Div Requirements for Graduation
A Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree will be awarded to students who satisfactorily complete no fewer than 96 credits with a minimum overall GPA of 2.67. The M.Div is offered with numerous different concentrations or specializations available, and the student is also able to define their own concentration, provided they receive permission from their mentor and Yeshiva administration. The program requires 56 credits of core classes (given below) as well as at least 32 credits in the student's chosen concentration. Because the M.Div is designed to cover a wide range of topics, there are no electives for the program. Additionally, the M.Div requires submission and acceptance of a thesis.
Required classes for all students enrolling in the M.Div are:
